Why join our team as our Program & Marketing Coordinator? You will make a Tangible Impact on Healthy Childhood Development and Community Resilience!

Join the United Way of the Franklin & Hampshire Region and help foster healthy childhood and youth development to build a strong base for our entire community.

Consider the profound impact you could make:

  • Addressing Diaper Need: Across the U.S., 1 in 2 families with young children struggle to afford enough diapers, leading to health risks like painful rashes and urinary tract infections, and often forcing parents to miss work or school because childcare requires diapers. Through the United Way Diaper Bank, we distribute approximately 20,000 diapers each month across Franklin and Hampshire Counties, providing essential relief and promoting the health and well-being of our youngest residents.

  • Advancing Early Literacy: Early literacy is a cornerstone of future success. Our Read!Learn!Succeed! program distributes 1,000s of new books a year to young learners, fostering a positive relationship with reading at an early age. For many, these are the only new books they have at home.

  • Driving Community Investment: You will contribute to our broader community investment initiatives that actively build stronger and more vibrant neighborhoods by driving aligned impact around youth mental health and wellbeing, food security and community resilience. You will also support efforts to supply emergency food and shelter to our most vulnerable neighbors.

Help us build a happier, healthier, more vibrant Valley.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Program Coordination:

    • Offer administrative support and coordination for the United Way Diaper Bank program.

    • Assist with the implementation of the Read!Learn!Succeed! Early Literacy program.

    • Provide support for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), including managing online databases and overseeing application processes, in collaboration with the Program Director.

    • Assist the Program Director in administering Community Investment activities, including database management and coordination with local nonprofit agencies and volunteers.

  • Volunteer & Community Engagement:

    • Support the engagement and recruitment of program volunteers.

  • Marketing & Communications:

    • Develop and create compelling content for the organization's social media channels and mass email campaigns.

  • General Support:

    • Support and coordination for various basic needs drives that United Way runs throughout the year, including our Diaper Drive.

    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organizational goals.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and Canva programs.

  • Experience in creating content for social media and email marketing.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow established systems and protocols, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to take initiative and contribute positively to a team-oriented environment.

  • Comfort and proficiency with technology.

  • Comfort communicating professionally with donors and key stakeholders via phone and email.

  • Candidates with experience using AI tools are preferred.

  • A sense of humor, passion, and commitment to community service.
