Proposed Bylaw Amendments Pass

Proposed amendment changes to the bylaws of United Way of Hampshire County passed in a vote of 35 for and 1 against.

The vote, conducted by email with membership, followed a Special Meeting on the morning of October 1. Membership is defined as donors to the United Way of Hampshire County during the 2020 campaign year.

The block of amendments was passed unanimously by the full board of directors in September.

The amendments allow greater flexibility for the Board during extenuating times, like our current work during the COVID-19 crisis and our ongoing evaluation with United Way of Franklin County regarding a potential merger.

Thanks to all of you for attending our Kick-Off, to those who stayed on through the Special Meeting, and to those who voted. The community’s support of United Way, including on important decisions like these amendments, is at the core of what it means to LIVE UNITED.
