This year marks the seventh annual Person of the Year Awards, which we recognize in conjunction with the Daily Hampshire Gazette. You can nominate a Hampshire County resident at www.gazettenet.com/poty2021. Nominations are due before Friday, April 30.
We are accepting nominations for three categories:
Person of the Year: Honoring a Hampshire County resident for going above and beyond in making the Valley a better place. A $500 prize will be awarded, half to be donated to a charity of their choice.
Young Community Leader: The Young Community Leader award recognizes a person between the age of 15 and 30 who lives in Hampshire County, and has contributed through community involvement and volunteerism, to making our county a better place for all. A $250 prize will be awarded, half to be donated to a charity of their choice.
Frances Crowe Award (2nd Annual): This award recognizes a person(s) or organization that represents the essence of Frances Crowe’s legacy in Hampshire County and how has a documented history of their own inspiring the next generation of change makers, whether through anti-war, educational, low-impact environmental causes, or advocating for women and children. A $500 prize will be donated to their cause
All nominations will be reviewed by a committee made up of representatives from United Way of Hampshire County, the Daily Hampshire Gazette, and community leaders.
